Reflexology

Reflexology is a hands-on therapy that involves applying pressure to specific reflex points on the hands and feet. It has been practised in various forms for thousands of years and is commonly used to support relaxation, overall wellbeing, and the body’s natural restorative processes.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a hands-on therapy that involves applying pressure to specific reflex points on the hands and feet. It has been practised in various forms for thousands of years and is commonly used to support relaxation, overall wellbeing, and the body’s natural restorative processes.

Traditionally, reflexology is based on the principle that different areas of the hands and feet correspond with different parts and systems of the body. While these traditional maps remain central to reflexology practice, modern research has explored how treatment may influence the nervous system, the body’s stress response, and the perception of pain.

Clients commonly seek reflexology to support:

  • Stress reduction and relaxation
  • Chronic pain and muscular tension
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Improved sleep
  • Digestive wellbeing
  • Fatigue and burnout
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • General wellness and self-care

What Happens During a Session?

Every session begins with a conversation about your health history, goals, and comfort level. You remain fully clothed throughout treatment, with only your hands, arms, feet and lower leg exposed depending on the treatment being provided. Using a variety of pressure techniques, I work with specific reflex points while adjusting pressure to suit your comfort and preferences.

Is Reflexology Right for Me?

Reflexology is generally considered a gentle, low-risk complementary therapy for most people. However, treatment may need to be modified or postponed if you have open wounds, burns, infections, recent injuries affecting the hands or feet, certain circulatory conditions, recent surgery, or other significant health concerns.

If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery, or under the care of a healthcare professional, reflexology can often still be enjoyed as a complementary therapy. If you are unsure whether treatment is appropriate, I encourage you to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider before booking.

My Approach

I believe reflexology works best alongside modern healthcare. My practice is trauma-informed, evidence-aware, and grounded in clear communication, informed consent, and professional boundaries. I value collaboration with other qualified healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive thoughtful, client-centred care within my scope of practice.

Reflexology is a complementary wellness practice and is intended to support wellbeing rather than diagnose, treat, or cure.

Reflexology is complementary care and should not replace medical diagnosis, treatment or advice from your doctor or other healthcare professional.
